Enter the Cyber Classroom

The Cyber Classroom (CC) is an opportunity for you to have an ongoing tutorial experience, expand on what you learn from the SIMM and incorporate your clinical experiences. In addition it is a chance for you to learn from the experiences and insights of your peers. Our goal is to foster collaborative learning and to gain insight into your ability to think through a problem. You are expected to participate actively in the discussion. This participation may take the form of:

• Addresses the group or an individual by name
• “Thinks aloud” providing a rationale
• Backs up questions and assertions with clinical evidence
• Critically and respectfully analyzes the content, expectations and beliefs of colleagues
• Posts questions and assertions

All previous cyber classroom discussions will be archived for your review during the clerkship. Access to participation in the classroom will be limited to students that are currently registered for the surgical clerkship.
