CONGRATULATIONS to the Division of Trauma/Critical Care Surgery- Drs. Simon, Frangos, Bholat and Ms. Jacko, the Trauma Coordinator along with PEDS-Emergency Medicine (Drs. Foltin/Levine) was recently approved for a $122,242 one-year injury prevention grant from the State of New York Governor's Traffic Safety Committee to look at risk factors and elicit injury patterns and outcomes for 'pedestrian struck' patients in an effort to reduce the number of pedestrians and cyclists injured or killed by motor-vehicles in NYC.

GRAND ROUNDS: The next Department of Surgery Grand Rounds will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:30am in Alumni Hall B. Dr. Thomas Maldonado will present on "The Future of Endovascular Repair of Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms." Please mark your calendars with the date and time. All surgical faculty and resident must attend.

SAVE THE DATE- DEPARTMENT HOLIDAY PARTY: The Department's 2008 Holiday party will be held on Thursday, December 11th, 6:30- 10 pm at the Twenty Four Fifth, 5th avenue between 9th and 10th streets. Invitations were sent out today.
