GRAND ROUNDS: The next Department of Surgery Grand Rounds will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:30am in Alumni Hall B. Dr. Thomas Maldonado will present on "The Future of Endovascular Repair of Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms." Please mark your calendars with the date and time. All surgical faculty and resident must attend.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. H. Leon Pachter who was elected Vice-President of the American Association for Surgical Trauma (AAST) at the National meeting in Hawaii.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Evan Nadler who received a K08 grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH) for "The Role of TGF-beta in the pathogenesis of Experimental Biliary Atresia." The grant is for 5 years from 2008-2012 for $153,360/year.
SAVE THE DATE- DEPARTMENT HOLIDAY PARTY: The Department's 2008 Holiday party will be held on Thursday, December 11th, 6:30- 10 pm at the Twenty Four Fifth, 5th avenue between 9th and 10th streets. Invitations will be sent out shortly.
