GRAND ROUNDS: The next Surgery Grand Rounds will be the Frank C. Spencer lecture on this Wednesday April 29, 2009 at 7:30 AM in Schwartz Lecture Hall E. Dr. L.D. Britt, Brickhouse Professor and Chairman of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School will present on "Graduate Medical Education in Surgery: One shoe does not fit all." All Surgery Faculty and Residents are strongly encouraged to attend.
MONTHLY MEDICAL-SURGICAL CONFERENCE: This month's Med-Surg Conference will take place Thursday, April 30th at 5pm in the Farber Auditorium in the Bellevue Lobby. Cardiac issues of patients undergoing general surgery will be the focus of this month's conference. All faculty, residents and students are urged to attend. Refreshments begin at 4:30pm.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Manish Parikh for leading the Bariatric Surgery program at Bellevue Hospital and receiving the provisional status as American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Manish Parikh who received a 2009 SAGES Research Grant Award ($30K) for the Bellevue Bariatric Surgery Research Project entitled: Does a Preoperative Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program Improve Bariatric Surgery Outcomes: A Pilot Randomized Study."
