GRAND ROUNDS: The next grand rounds will be a Special Grand Rounds for the graduating chief residents on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 7:30 AM in Alumni Hall Classroom A. Dr. Daniel F. Roses, Jules Leonard Whitehill Professor of Surgery and Oncology will present on "Billroth and Brahms and the Rise of Modern Surgery". All Surgery Faculty and Residents are strongly encouraged to attend. Please mark your calendars as it is a Tuesday for this special Grand Rounds. The divisional conferences on June 16th should be cancelled so that all faculty and residents can attend the Grand Rounds.
END OF YEAR PARTY: The end of the year party for our 2009 graduating Chief Residents and Fellows will be held next Tuesday, June 16th at the Tribeca Rooftop located at 2 Desbrosses Street (between Hudson & Greenwich Street). Faculty and residents should RSVP to Tracy via email at Tracy.Henry@nyumc.org or via phone at 263-2225 ASAP. The party will be from 7-11pm.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT: Dr. Tom Diflo was appointed to a three-year position on the American Society of Transplant Surgeons Curriculum Committee, which develops and writes the curriculum for Transplant Fellows in the US.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Mihye Choi in the Division of Plastic Surgery who received a pilot grant from the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation (PSEF): Quantification of Fat Graft Survival Using 3D Digital Analysis

At the recent annual meeting of the American Head and Neck Society in Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Keith Heller was presented with the Distinguished Service Award of the Society. He also presented a paper entitled "Final Intraoperative PTH Predicts Outcome Following Parathyroidectomy."
Dr. Moore had an abstract presented at Digestive Disease Week, May 30-Jun 4, Chicago, Il: "Mass Spectrometry MALDI Imaging and LCMS Identification of Colon Cancer Proteins in Benign Polyps."
