GRAND ROUNDS: The next Department of Surgery Grand Rounds is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st at 7:30am in Smillow Seminar Room, 1st Floor. Dr. Jennifer B. Ogilvie will present on "The Adrenal Incidentaloma and Minimally Invasive Approaches to Adrenalectomy." All surgical faculty and residents are strongly encouraged to attend. Please mark your calendars of this date.
IN THE NEWS: Dr. Richard Shapiro appeared on WABC-TV for Breast Cancer Special on October 3, 2009.
SAVE THE DATE- DEPARTMENT HOLIDAY PARTY: The Department's 2009 Holiday party will be held on Thursday, December 10th, 6:30- 10 pm at the Twenty Four Fifth, 5th avenue between 9th and 10th streets. Invitations will be sent out shortly.
PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS:
Dr. Lewis Teperman gave a grand rounds talk titled "HCC, Nexavar & Beyond" at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY on September 29, 2009.
Dr. Keith Heller delivered Surgical Grand Rounds at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas on September 30, 2009. The title of his lecture was "Treatment of Recurrent Hyperparathyroidism. On October 2, 2009 he was the invited lecturer at the annual Dallas All-City Head and Neck Conference where he spoke on "Surgery for Hyperparathyroidism" and "The Treatment of Thyroid Cancer - Too Much or Too Little".
Dr. Linda Dultz presented a paper entitled: In-house trauma attendings: A new financial benefit for hospitals, at the 69th Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma in Pittsburgh.
