Research in the Division of Pediatric Surgery
The NYU Division of Pediatric Surgery is committed to pursuing new ideas and techniques for treating childhood diseases.
To achieve this goal, we are constantly exploring new avenues of surgical research. Our current efforts involve various clinical research projects designed to optimize patient outcomes and improve our understanding of disease biology. Additionally, with the integration of electronic health records into our daily practice, we are developing innovative research methods in the fields of computational biology and healthcare informatics.
General Surgery residents at NYU are given the opportunity to engage in various clinical and informatics projects within the Division Pediatric Surgery. Our close ties to NYC’s premier pediatric surgery basic science research laboratories gives our residents a unique opportunity to explore all aspects of pediatric surgical research, and launch them on a path towards a Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
