About the MindBody Education & Patient Care Program
As part of an effort to enhance patient care, NYU Medical Center established the MindBody Education & Patient Care Program as part of a grant from a private foundation. The primary goals of this Program are to provide mind-body healing strategies to patients, families and health care staff, encourage the incorporation of these strategies into patient care, and foster a caring and healing environment throughout the Medical Center. The MindBody Education & Patient Care Program offers Prepare for Surgery Heal Faster workshops and Relaxation Techniques for Treatments and Procedures for patients across all ages and health care concerns.

Cai McPhee is a Holistic Clinical Nurse Specialist and Program Director for the MindBody Education & Patient Care Program at NYU Medical Center in New York City. She is trained in Mind-Body-Spirit techniques involving Imagery, Relaxation Breathing, Therapeutic Touch, Sound Healing, Yoga, Reflexology, and Mindfulness-Based meditation.
She teaches and provides these techniques to patients, families and staff to facilitate relaxation, stress reduction, anxiety and pain management across all ages and patient populations. She also provides ongoing wellness programs for the nursing leadership and educational programs to staff to promote integration and utilization of these modalities in patient care.
