Comprehensive Organ Transplant Care for Patients with End-Stage Liver and Kidney Diseases

The NYU Mary Lea Johnson Richards Organ Transplantation Center, established in New York City in 1989, offers comprehensive liver and kidney transplant services:

• liver transplants, including live donor liver transplants
• kidney transplants, including living donor kidney transplants and laparoscopic kidney transplants

The NYU organ transplant team also treats patients awaiting transplants with services that include:

• clinic visits
• liver dialysis
• chemoembolization
• transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedures

With a track record of over 1300 liver and kidney transplants since the Division’s inception, NYU’s transplant surgeons perform the highest volume of organ transplants, with survival rates among the best in the country.

NYU’s transplant doctors treat the second highest number of primary liver cancer patients in the United Status and are innovators in living-donor liver and kidney transplantation, performing live donor laparoscopic kidney removals and live donor liver transplants.
